John Morris,

John Morris is a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and 1978 graduate Anniston High School. He played football at AHS for Calhoun County Sports Hall of Fame member Bill Farrell from 1975 through 1977. The 1976 Bulldogs were Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 4A, Region 10 champions. Following the 1977 season, Morris was named All-County, All-Region 10 and honorable mention All-State at quarterback. 

He attended Jacksonville State University then attained his civil engineering degree from Alabama Technical College in 1982.

Morris became President-CEO of Morris Building Constructors, Inc. in 1993, a position he still holds. The firm has been named a Top 200 USA Industrial Contractor for the previous five years. John is an active member of Associated Builders and Contractors of Alabama, Calhoun County Quarterback Club and Golden Springs Baptist Church. He became a member of the board of directors of the Calhoun County Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.

John is married to Tammy Gidley Morris, a native of Gadsden. They are the parents of a daughter, Alexandra (Ali).

Along with his wife, Morris is a lifelong Red Sox fan.
